Tiles are the ideal option for your kitchen, they are easy to clean and hard wearing.
Previously this project had the classic green lino, complete with tears and visible seams. As you can see in the picture (top right) below, it was in need of a makeover.
Prior to the new kitchen being installed, we laid a mocha polished porcelain in 600 x 600 with a taupe grout throughout the kitchen and dining. Porcelain tiles are extremely strong and great for kitchen areas and the polished finish looks absolutely stunning. However keep in mind the polished finish does show up smudges, so if you have kids or animals we would suggest you look for a semi polished or matt finish tile. The tiles were laid before the kitchen installation and holes left for the electrical where needed. Tiling before the kitchen is installed gives a great seamless look.
After the kitchen was installed the splashback was tiled right to the ceiling and the internal edge of the window was tiled in a charcoal/glitter feature tile with aluminium trim on the edge. This makes cleaning so easy.
